An honest look at the foundation we are building to preserve Italian American heritage for generations to come.
The Alghini Institute for Italian Americans is a newly established 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving Italian American stories, genealogy, and cultural history. The organization is currently founder-funded and volunteer-driven while the long-term educational archive and community programs are being developed.
We believe in transparency about where we stand. Rather than projecting aspirational metrics, this page documents the real work happening today and the vision we are building toward.
The real work currently underway as we lay the groundwork for a lasting cultural resource.
Development of ItalianAmericans.com as a centralized digital heritage platform for the Italian American community.
Historical and genealogical writing contributed by an 86-year-old Italian American genealogist with decades of family research.
Ongoing research and documentation of Italian American family histories, immigration records, and community narratives.
Building the digital archive framework that will house future oral histories, family photographs, and immigration documents.
Beyond digital preservation, the founders currently organize a quarterly Adopt-A-Street cleanup effort as part of the organization's commitment to community stewardship. We believe that heritage preservation starts with caring for the communities we live in today.
Volunteer-led neighborhood cleanup effort supporting local communities. Organized each quarter, this initiative brings together volunteers who share our belief that stewardship of our surroundings reflects the values of heritage and community care.
We are creating an online archive where Italian American families will eventually be able to share and preserve their heritage for future generations. The technical infrastructure for this archive is currently being developed.
This is a long-term project. We are building it carefully and deliberately to ensure the archive can serve communities for decades to come.
