2026 Annual Fund drive

Every Family Has a Story

Help us reach $50,000 by December 31.

A family name. A remembered recipe. A story passed from one generation to the next. Help keep Italian American stories and free heritage resources available for others to discover.

Your employer may double your donation. With an eligible 1:1 match, $25 becomes $50. Check your company’s giving program for its rules and deadlines.

Checking the latest verified campaign progress…

$2,000 expected opening support target: Christopher Alghini’s planned $1,000 personal gift and an expected $1,000 corporate match. Verified opening support so far: awaiting reporting. Only verified gifts and approved matches enter the confirmed Annual Fund total.

Reported gifts awaiting verification are separate from confirmed support. Approved matches may arrive later; cash received is shown separately. Processing fees and refunds are reconciled in our campaign records.

Your company may help, too

Double your donation.

When your employer offers a 1:1 match, your $25 gift can become $50 for Italian American heritage. Check your company’s giving program for eligibility, limits, and deadlines.

Our opening corporate match applies to the opening donor’s gift. Your own employer determines whether and how it matches your contribution.

Support free heritage learning

A meaningful way to give

Carry someone’s story forward.

Give in honor of a parent, grandparent, ancestor, or someone who helped you feel connected to your heritage. You can include an optional dedication when donating directly, or use your workplace program’s dedication field if it offers one.

A tribute is a way to express why you care. Gifts remain unrestricted and do not purchase story publication or archive entries. Donors may separately choose a name acknowledgment after their gifts are verified.

An invitation to belong

Help carry our heritage forward.

Our Annual Fund brings together people who value free Italian American stories, research, and learning. Every gift is welcome. Explore our Heritage Leadership Circle, Storykeepers Circle, and Friends of ItalianAmericans.com, or ask how your company can support the work.

Personal donor recognition is optional and lasts 12 months from publication. Employer matches help the fundraising total; they do not determine a personal donor’s circle.

Questions about giving

How does a workplace donation count toward the goal?

We include verified donor gifts and documented approved employer matches, even when the gift happens outside our website. You can tell us about a workplace gift to help us reconcile it. A self-report is kept separate until verified.

Will my company automatically match my gift?

Eligible donations through a company’s Benevity program can receive an automatic match when an active matching offer applies. Your employer sets eligibility, rates, limits, and deadlines. Check the offer in your company’s portal before giving. Direct website gifts may require a separate match request if your employer permits them.

What is included in the running total?

Confirmed support includes verified donations and documented approved matches. Reported gifts awaiting verification and cash received are shown separately. Matching funds may arrive after the campaign closes. Gifts and matches are counted once, with refunds and reversals reconciled.

Is the opening $2,000 a match for my gift?

The expected opening support is Christopher Alghini’s $1,000 personal gift plus an expected $1,000 corporate match. That match applies to his gift. It is separate from any match your own employer may offer. Opening support enters the confirmed total once documented.

Can I be acknowledged as a donor?

Yes, if you choose. Use our optional donor recognition request after giving. We publish only approved names with explicit permission, after personal gifts are verified. Recognition lasts 12 months from publication; employer matches do not determine your circle.

Are gifts tax-deductible?

The Alghini Institute for Italian Americans is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 99-0439703. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Keep the receipt provided by the donation processor or workplace-giving foundation. View our nonprofit and transparency records.

Can I help without making a donation?

Yes. Read and share the campaign, explore the free resources, or preserve a story with your family. Sharing the campaign with someone whose workplace matches gifts can help others participate.
